So we keep waiting (waiting) waiting on the world to change

Sunday was a celebration day for the Ryde Children's Festival.
Darvall Park was full of under 5's all having a wonderful time... well almost, it was incredibly hot and in parts of the park, incredibly muggy.
It was $8 for all day rides - which was great but the queues were often half an hour long. In that sun, with active kids, not a good mix!
The day was run by Playgroup so there were tents set up with craft, which both kids loved.
Look... there's Georgie.
Hello Georgie.
Hello Mummy, Hello Jamie.
(Ok so it's a little small for her, but it was the only ride we had to wait 5 minutes to get on. Jamie desperately wanted to get on as well, but we figured he might try and slide off in the middle of the ride which could cause problems.)

There was a little circus show and Georgie did some hula-hooping afterwards.
She had some speed and swing going too!

There was a petting zoo and both kids love the animals, although the day before (Saturday) we'd been up to the school fete (the school that G will be attending) and in the petting zoo there the ducks had splashed Jamie and given him a fright.
Also by this point in the day he was very hot and very tired.

Not really interested in the guinea pigs - he was more interested in the baby chickens.

Georgie always likes to try and get the cows/sheep/goats to eat any hay that is around.
Here is Jamie trying to escape from Maxine McKew, who is our local member of Federal Parliament having won over John Howard and in schmooze mode as the safe Labor state seat was won by a 25% swing to the Liberal Party... but I digress, yep here's Jamie trying to leap over the fence.
And here is Daniel trying to avoid Maxine but keeping up a running commentary of sly remarks.
What Daniel???? Who knew? :o) We all know Maxine is your favourite. She wasn't getting hold of our baby that day.

This is what a hot tired super hero looks like.

Here he is loving the craft table.

Checking to see if these crayons taste any good.
Apparently they did.

This is the "no Mummy I didn't taste the crayon" face.
I'm an angel Mummy.
....with a little devil inside. Finally got onto one of the rides... I stood in line while G had a go on a jumping castle.
We're all hot, tired and ready to go home about now.
Check out the socks, yep she has skulls on her socks.
She picked them out... black socks, pink/red trousers and a lovely yellow tshirt with an icecream sunday on it. Her fashion sense is unique.
They both had a wonderful time.
