The good news is we're nearly finished. It's just really cosmetic things that need to happen now. The back verandah needs to be painted (and the side gate), and the backyard landscaped.
That's pretty much it for this extension project. Of course then we need to do the driveway, but that's not falling under this project.

Richard (the Landcaper) came with his little digger machine to start what looked suspiciously like the beginning of an in ground pool. Someone must have been on our side, as the Sydney weather took a turn for the better and didn't actually turn it into a swimming pool.
(We do actually have drainage in before the verandah)
His henchmen came and concreted - the dog managed to break 2 ropes and left her mark on everything. Dan had to do a patch job when he arrived home that night.
The bricks arrived.
The sand didn't.
The boys were held up a day.
It took them a whole day to put the sand down.
They got a few pavers laid in the afternoon and I secured the dog with a piece of rope tripled.
Georgie has been playing on it ever since.
The first thing that came out was the painting and blackboard. She's been waiting a long time for this and her creative juices were overflowing.
Since then it's had some hopscotch marks drawn on it in blue (Daddy will be really impressed). It's been used as a stage - with portable micraphone and all, and it's had the scooter race up and down it. She has even made it an off road event by adding a bucket of water to it. Not sure that was a good idea but as I said her creative mind was working over time and I wasn't watching. (enough said there).
They've done a great job, I'm very happy with it. We've got big lights up on the wall and connections to put speakers out under the roof so within a few weeks it should be really rocking out there. In the mean time the kids can use it for their own personal race track while Mummy watches them from the kitchen window.

see.... only one of what looks like a very long list of posts to catch up on and I'm already chuckling - out loud!!! you're funny and your sense of humour which I vividly remember from school days, shines through your blog words...
