It can get exceptionally hot at Granma's (it can get exceptionally cold too but seeing as these photos are still from January it's hot). It's very dry too. I can't begin to explain how dry it is, but James and I end up with very scaly skin after we've visited.
Anyway.... this day the kids were out, around morning tea time playing in the sandpit.
We had to put the sandpit under the shelter to keep the sun off, but it kept them amused for a while.
They normally play very nicely together in the sandpit, but James likes to actually eat what Georgie gives him as pretend sand food. Yes, he knows he shouldn't, he just likes the taste of sand - apparently.
- the monologue going through Jamie's head 'hmm looks yummy, nice and dry and very white, would have some nice crunch to it.....
...nah, it's hardly a mouthful, I'll see if she'll fill it up for me'.
Trying to make sandcastles is hard, water has to be brought in at each playing.
And then you have to battle your sand-eating brother.
