One of my school friends once said they had a cave on their property that Ned was said to have spent lots of time 'hiding out' in.
He supposedly rode his horse right into one of the pubs in town - probably several but there aren't as many left nowadays as there were in Ned's days.
He had many friends in Beechworth (it's hard, nowadays, to think of a bushranger, the big bad guy, having friends) and he spent time in Beechworth jail.
