We spent some time in Washington DC after we'd been to the Virgin Islands.
It was Dan's choice this time and we only wanted to go somewhere for a few days.
We stayed in downtown DC and although it was once a very unsafe place they've cleaned it up and it is apparently quite safe now (this is according to one of the girls Dan worked with who lives in Washington).
We headed off to do some touristy things -
See the White House.....
of course you can imagine the security round the White House. We couldn't actually get in, just look from the fence.
This more what it looked like to us!
Yep, you don't get very close.
And although it doesn't look it there was a very large crowd along the fence trying to take photos.
If you look closely at the right set of chimneys you'll see what looks like a black pipe sticking out...
It's actually this!
Some shots round the garden... they have their own apiary.
