Mum and Dad have a wombat who has been visiting.
He's been visiting because he's not well.
It is unusual to see a wombat out during the day, not to mention so close to the house and humans.
Here he is right at the back door. Ok so about 4 foot away from the back veranda, but close enough!
It's raining and cold here and we're all trying to be quiet.
The stillness was disturbed by James who came racing out laughing as loud as he could.
It didn't seem to bother Wally who just kept on eating.
You can see from the patch down the side of Wally he's not well. He has a skin condition.
Because it's so rare to see a wombat up so close and Mum and Dad wanted the kids (especially Georgia) to see him they decided not to call Wires (the wildlife rescue people) until after we'd visited.
