The Ups and Downs

The last time we went to Kidstown at Maroopna was in January and it was incredibly hot, with far too many flies.

We took a trip over there this October.
James was at a good age for the park this time and could manage a lot of it with me sitting on the sidelines (yay!). Still needed to keep an eye on him though.

Here he is heading up the long staircase to catch up with his sister on the big slide - he can walk up the stairs, but these are wider than usual and a little scary when you look back down them. His sister had already made a friend and was off riding the slides with her.
The slides were still hot, even though we're wearing winter clothes. He went down the slide once and that was it, I got told 'hot hot hot Mama'.

James just wanted to ride the merry-go-round. Here he is trying to con money out of me.

Eventually I gave in... after about 20 minutes of "Please Mama"

And Granma got some crochet done.
