Georgie finally decided, about 2 weeks ago, that she'd like her hair cut off.
This has been a major decision in many ways.
When she was younger she believed that boys had short hair and getting hers cut would make her look like a boy, but a couple of her friends at school have hair this short and one of the girls had her waist length hair cut to this length, oh, about two weeks ago, and got a lot of attention for it.
So G has been asking and asking.
How could I refuse? Less knots to fuss over, less time in the morning to do before school (she now brushes it herself), it won't get wet in the bath, it will be easier for swimming and soccer, it won't get in her face while she's sleeping and if it's not brushed when she gets up it should still look presentable.
I'm having a hard time getting used to it.
This is the style she wanted, though if it was my choice I might have gotten it a little shorter or with more styling or something, it's very square. She's got a little bit of curl so it won't ever sit dead straight unless made to. Still she's happy with it.
It's amazing now that it's cut, how many people have pointed out how dark it is. She will have colouring more like Dan's side of the family I think.
[Oh yeah, it got the desired admiration at school that she was looking for. Even a few envious parents who wouldn't mind having lengths of hair cut off their little ones too!]
