It's getting closer!!

Welcome to the house renovations... a lot has gone on this week.

The floor was finished (well at the end of last week) the stairs have gone in,

the framework of the kitchen, the bathroom vanity and cupboard and the laundry cupboards.

Come on in and I'll show you round...

Two things hit you now, the floor is super, even unfinished and my kitchen is large, airy and fabulous. If it's all this with just the basics gone in I can't imagine what it's going to look like finished. The doors are in the final stage of their poly treatment and our bench won't go on until the workmen have finished so they don't damage the timber.

So as you look at it, the breakfast bar is at the front with the broom leaning on it and the big gap in the cupboard is so we can reach the back of that cupboard from this side (the laminate bench is for stabilisation and protection while it's all being built). Under the window is the sink and the dishwasher and over on the back wall is the hob/oven. The funny shaped thing in the right corner is the walk in pantry (yay!!!!) and next to that will be the fridge with a cupboard over the top and finally opposite the bench is my appliance cupboard with a nice built in bit for the microwave.

The draws are all Blum softclose and the doors are now softclose too.

The breackast bar side with the dishwasher hole. No reason for a gap in the bench, it's just temporary. I'll be able to see right across to the tv.

The Westinghouse extractor fan over where the hob/oven will be and those great draws.

All our appliances except the dishwasher will be Westinghouse as Dan has a contact through work and we got them at cost. The dishwasher is Fisher and Paykel - we could have gotten a Westinghouse one for a very good price but I won't give in on the dishdraw. (It better not break down or I'll never hear the end of it)

My laundry cupboards and I love the colour - I think the doors are parchment, the top is oatmeal and it's one of my most favourite colours. The sticking up things are just paint chips to pick wall colours. (Our kitchen guy made all the cupboards in the kitchen, laundry and bathroom.)

There will be carpet up and down the stairs and we'll stain the wood.

Underneath the stairs will be doors and storage. (the cupboards in front are for over the fridge and to go past our ventilation in the laundry)
