This year there was a "Family Show" run over at the old Sydney Showgrounds (now Fox Studios) run in competition with the Easter Show. Of course it didn't have all the animals or the big fruit and vegie picture display or a lot of the other things, but it was free to get into and had a little bit of this and a little bit of that. (The price of food was still there to remind you of The Show.)
Much to the kids (ok Georgie's) delight they had quite a few rides.
James wanted to go on rides too but he wanted to go with Gi and she now goes on things that are way to big for him. She'd happily go on little rides with him but at the price they were charging that day I decided it was not a good idea.
Now isn't that a cute little cardigan? Wonder whose Mummy made that? :o)
Trying not to have too much fun.
How groovy are these boats? Both kids could go on them. I think they were like boat dodgem cars and had little motors in them to float the kids round.
James is not the worlds best steerer. Much like most of his life he's fairly lazy (or talented in other areas as we put it) so steering doesn't come naturally to him.
He got very frustrated because he kept getting stuck in a corner and then the big man would come over to free him (why couldn't Daddy just jump the fence?)
He just wanted to be driving like his sister.
They were great fun and there was a bit of a fight to get in them (some parents are so pushy and rude, no wonder their kids turn out that way).
We also saw one of the teachers from school that day (with his girlfriend) which Gi just thought was the bees-knees, because, as you do when you're nearly six, you don't think teachers exist anywhere but school. He isn't her teacher - in fact he's the year 3/4 teacher but he came over and spoke to her for quite a while. A big thrill and most kind of him. (The benefits of going to a small school, the teachers know everyone and they are all pretty friendly. This teacher plays in a rock band and has 4 star tattoos up his arm - he's a hit with the boys.)
