Every school holidays Thomas the Tank Engine visits the Zig Zag Railway in the Blue Mountains.
We thought it would be good to take the Thomas fan up to see him.
We learnt a few lessons that day.
1. Don't leave at 11am to go see Thomas as you'll get there at 1pm and have about an hour before you have to leave to battle the traffic home
2. Even the biggest Thomas fan can get scared of his idle - especially if you have to wake him up after a sleep in the car.
3. Pack jumpers, even if it's very hot down in Sydney, it will be freezing when you get there.
4. Book tickets, even if the advertisement says you can get face painting and pony rides when you get there, what they really mean is that you have to book tickets and go on the train down to the bottom of the Zig Zag to get the good stuff. You can't get to the bottom by driving.
5. Thomas at full size is cool
Donald or Douglas - can't remember which one.
Georgie was pretty excited.
Eventually he woke up and got pretty excited.
"Look Mum, same as my t-shirt".
