When we enrolled James in school we were told that in
Year 3 he had to play rugby. Sure, no problems, Year 3 is aaaaaages
away.
Well Year 3 is here.
I honestly thought he would not be interested in
rugby, after all it involves takling other people and getting tackled
yourself. And then there is the issue of dirt and mud.
Also, he loves cricket, loves it, lives eats and
breaths T20 at the moment.
But James has changed, a lot.
Before Term 1 ended the Year 3 boys were presented
with their head gear by some of the Waratahs/Wallabies. It was a big
moment and I think all the boys were quite in awe of the legends in the room.
If there ever was a reason to eat their veggies, it is to grow as big as
these boys.
A big thanks to Wycliff Palu, Will Skelton and Sam
Lousi for coming to the presentation, such nice guys and and fantastic
inspiration for the next generation of Waratahs.
After they got their headgear on the boys went outside
for a short training session.
James is absorbed in all things rugby at the moment, the rules, the teams, the plays, the positions.
(At his last training he was one of the props and pretty proud of himself.)
Not looking bad for a kid who has never played before.
Future Wallaby?
Maybe.....if the cricket team is full.
